From The Pastor
I am a North Carolina native - raised in Duplin County (Faison), where I still have family. My faith was formed by family, friends and the members of Faison Presbyterian Church, a small church of about 65 members. I attended Queens College in Charlotte and earned a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee (’90). I entered Duke Divinity School as a student pastor in 2004, earned my Masters of Divinity in 2008, and was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 2011. I have been formed and blessed by serving the Sarecta/Wesley Chapel Charge in rural Duplin County, Amity UMC in Chapel Hill, and, most recently, a dual appointment as Assistant to the Heritage District Superintendent and as Pastor of Black Creek UMC outside of Wilson.
I'm married to George Loveland, also a United Methodist pastor. George currently serves Winstead UMC here in Wilson. George and I have been married for 7 years, and together they have 6 children: George has 2 daughters; I have 4 sons. They range in age from 16-27. The 16 year old, my son Andrew, is the only one still at home, but he too will be flying out of the nest this fall to attend NC School of Science and Math in Durham.
George and I love spending time together whether it's a quiet evening at home, dinner out with friends and/or family, a local baseball game, or short trips (and long ones when possible!) to the beach or mountains.
