Heather is a North Carolina native. She attended Appalachian State University and then Duke Divinity School. She graduated from Duke in 2002, and has served churches in Rocky Mount, Granville County, Raleigh, and Cary. Phil also grew up in NC, and they met at a church in Raleigh, getting married in 2000. They have 2 children, Samantha and Matthew.
Lori Snyder, Director of Children and Youth Ministries
Lori directs our two youth groups, working with the youth, parents and their volunteers. She also directs our weekday preschool program and is seen all over the building on Sunday mornings making sure everyone is in their place for the children’s Sunday School classes. Lori has three grown children: Jessica, Andrew and Clayton.
Steffani Rodriguez, Office Manager
My name is Steffani Rodriguez, I was born in Venezuela. When I was 10, we moved to Wilson, NC and have lived here since. I have 2 beautiful children, Jazzmin and Jordi. I enjoy spending time with my family, and watching them play sports during the weekends. I look forward to meeting everyone. Please feel free to stop by the office and introduce yourself.
Caleb Skinner, Director of Music
Caleb Skinner is a native of Sims, NC. He received his BA in Music from Wingate University and his Master’s in Vocal Performance from the University of Kentucky where he studied acting with Janet Scott Studios. His non-local performing credits range from musical theatre, to opera, operetta, concert works, and solo recitals. Since returning to Wilson, he has been director and musical director of many musicals with his “partner in crime,” Trish Bradshaw. He now serves as the chorus teacher at Forest Hills Middle School and looks forward to eventually being able to get back to performing, directing, and teaching voice and acting lessons. He is a single father of a very grumpy cat named Finzi.
Joan Gibbs, Organist
Joan Brownd Gibbs earned a Bachelor of Science degree in music education from Barton College, organ being her main instrument. While finishing her degree, Joan served as organist/choir director at West Nash UMC (1971-73). Her husband, Milo, a banker, and she lived in many small communities after college graduation, Joan playing and directing at a church in each town. They returned to Wilson in 1982, where their children, Leslie and Spencer, grew up. In 1985, Joan was hired as organist and choir director of 5 choirs at First Presbyterian Church in Wilson, NC, retiring July 1, 2020.
