MEALS ON WHEELS
Every second Saturday of the month faithful volunteers of West Nash prepare a home-cooked meal for 27 folks in our community! We have several cooking teams and drivers, and would love to have you come volunteer to help us on these Saturdays. Contact the church office for more information on how you can be a part of this life-giving ministry.
CHEW (Children’s Hunger Elimination of Wilson)
West Nash is a proud participant in the CHEW program, packing food backpacks for children in our local schools. We need folks willing to pack backpacks and/or deliver the backpacks to the school. Please contact the church office for more information and to volunteer.
Forest Hills Middle School
Being a teacher is hard work. West Nash supports the teachers, administrators, and employees at Forest Hills in various ways throughout the year: school supplies, hot chocolate bar, Chick-fil-A lunch, clothes, cards, prayers, and more. Want to get involved? Talk with Pastor Heather about how you can support these community heroes.
Other Outreach
We support other community and global outreach ministries with our time and financial offerings. These links will help you to learn more about those ministries.
Seeds of Hope Wilson
Each month we send money to Hope Station to support them in their efforts to provide assistance to people in need in our community. Through the work of Hope Station, more people are able to become and stay self-sufficient.
For decades, the global response to the orphan crisis has been largely relief-based, yielding recipient dependency, donor frustration, and little transformation. By creating opportunities for vulnerable youth to become skilled, healthy, and connected community members, we not only solve the core issue of extreme poverty but eliminate the need for endless aid.
The United Methodist Committee on Relief, or UMCOR, is the mission and humanitarian assistance agency of the the United Methodist Church. This organization steps in during times of crisis — whether it’s from natural disaster or acts of aggression/war — to provide the needed assistance, and stays until people have recovered. One of the great things about UMCOR? 100% of donations goes to relief work.
At Methodist Home for Children, we provide safe, stable homes where children can thrive and live to their full, God-given potential. While not always traditional, an MHC home is where child and family are equipped to succeed. We build on strengths, nurturing hopes and goals, and prepare all in our care to shape their own futures.
