Project AGAPE brings hope to vulnerable children.
Project AGAPE — ministry to Armenia and to some of our most desperate Christian brothers and sisters — is a collaborative effort of the North Carolina and the Western North Carolina Conferences of The United Methodist Church in a joint effort with the Armenian Apostolic Church.
West Nash participates each year in Project AGAPE Christmas Boxes, packing over 120 for these beautiful Armenian children last year.
AND Project AGAPE is much more than Christmas Boxes:
“Project AGAPE is the only organized humanitarian group working in Kashatagh region of Nagorno-Karabagh Republic, historical Artsakh. Project AGAPE will continue to address the humanitarian needs of people in this region. The project will continue to refuse all funding that will endanger or prevent it from working in Kashatagh. Project AGAPE will remain versatile so as to respond quickly to emergency needs, but also will seek funds to implement development projects, as it is Project’s desire that the people we serve may become independent and self-sustaining. The Project will focus primarily on this rural area of Karabagh where there is a heavy concentration of refugees and displaced persons. Kashatagh district will continue to be one of the Project’s top priorities especially with its major need in safe, secure and sanitary housing. Project AGAPE is exploring a partnership with any organization willing to help the people of this region to restore their basic rights to live in conditions decent to human beings.”
