Love One Another
Serve the Community and World
The Church and World and New Beginnings Sunday School Classes of West Nash UMC, seek to live into the mission statement of West Nash UMC in the following ways:
Experiencing and Sharing God’s Grace – Grace is the unearned and undeserved love of God. We recognize and embrace, as a gift of grace, the diversity of our neighborhood and the world and we seek to share God’s inclusive grace with all people.
Love One Another – We are a community of faith-keeping and faith-seeking people who affirm every person has worth as a unique creation made in the image of God. Embracing the example of Jesus and his love for us, our welcome and love knows no boundaries of race, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, education, family status, economic status, religious background or physical or mental ability. As such, all are welcome! We are committed to being radically loving and welcoming, centered in the Good News of Jesus Christ. We recognize that there are differences among us, but believe that we can love alike even though we may not think alike (John Wesley).
Serving the Community and World – In service to those in our world and community, we offer a safe space, where all persons are embraced, diversity is celebrated, and gifts and talents of all of God’s children can be fostered and nurtured. We commit to model a community of faith and spirit that works toward openness and understanding, offering justice, healing and wholeness of life for all people. We believe that through our diversity, all can grow and practice a unity of faith that transcends our differences.
