God’s Crime Scene
We will begin our regular 2nd and 4th Thursdays meetings on the 23rd.
J. Warner Wallace, with the expertise of a cold-case detective (which he is), examines eight pieces of “evidence” in the crime scene of the universe to determine if they point to a Divine intruder.
The Thursday study group will interact with this well-respected speaker and former atheist as we read and discuss his book, God’s Crime Scene. This unique approach to the creation story will begin Thursday, January 23 at 7 p.m. If you would like to join, please contact Linda Proseus.
The Art of Neighboring
What if Jesus meant that we should love our actual neighbors? This is a question posed in the book The Art of Neighboring and it’s a question that every Christian needs to wrestle with. Neighborhoods are much more than a collection of houses, or apartments, brick and mortar… they are a collection of people and potential life-giving relationships. We all have a need for genuine community, and nothing beats the frequency, availability, and spontaneity of connecting with others who live near us. Can you imagine the impact of the Christians in each neighborhood around our city and county taking up the challenge to shine the light of Christ in their neighborhood? We will be tackling this very challenge as we offer practical teaching on the art of neighboring.

Announcing Winter Quarter Lay Servant Ministries Classes
Your Lay Servant Ministries team is pleased to announce six courses for our 2024-2025 Winter Quarter. Winter is the perfect season to settle in with a warm drink and deepen your learning from home. Five of our six classes are online, including a self-paced course. Soul Reset will be offered as a two-week journey that invites you to slow down, look inward, and reconnect with God. For those who prefer in-person learning, join us for the UM History class in the Capital District, or take a peek at the in-person courses being planned for our spring quarter.
Whether you’re pursuing certification or simply want to grow and fellowship alongside other UMC laity, we have a class for you!
